Permission Email Marketing:
Your Gateway to Massive Profits!

Every successful Affiliate Marketer knows that "Permission Email Marketing" is where the real money is made on the Internet!

In other words, the old saying holds true; "The Money is in the List."

Now, what am I talking about here? What is a list and how could it be so important?

First off, let's talk a little history here.

In the 90's, clever marketers recognized the value of sending advertisements to people via email. Heck, it cost basically nothing and you could reach millions of prospective customers with the click of a button! What could be better?

We now call that kind of advertising SPAM.

People hated it. It jammed up servers. It literally brought many companies to their knees!

So, Congress passed laws against it. You might have heard the term - "Can-SPAM." You can actually go to jail for sending out SPAM! Of course, most of the spammers hail from other countries and so aren't all that impressed.

Still, SPAM is a very bad form of advertising and no true affiliate marketer would ever even consider using it. But, email marketing held too much promise to just disappear into the goodnight.

The Rise of Permission Email Marketing

With the rise of SPAM and the emerging technologies designed to fight it, legitimate marketers had to seek a more effective way to contact their customers; they found that answer in Permission-Based Marketing.

This means that before a marketer will send you any email, they first require your permission to do so. This permission comes in the form of filling out an online form to allow the marketer to contact them.

There are two basic types of permission email marketing:

  • Single Opt-in, and
  • Double Opt-in

The single opt-in method is simply clicking on a web form and, Bingo, you're on their list. This method isn't too popular since web surfers have a tendency to click anything that looks like a button and end up on lists that they never wished to join.

This generally results in everybody getting "ticked-off!" The surfer doesn't remember opting-in and so blames the marketer for "Spamming" them with unwanted email.

That brings us to the double opt-in method - by far the most popular list-generating mechanism out there.

With double opt-in, you not only have to click a form, you also get an email asking you if you really, really wanted to do that. In other words, you have to say yes twice. This is a far more reliable list-building method.

In either case, once you have someone's permission to email them, you can now send them valuable newsletters, updates, information about your niche and, of course, targeted offers. When someone is on your list, you and she have formed a certain bond; a trust relationship that makes the list member more inclined to accept your product offers.

You never want to betray that trust by sending them Only offers. They joined your list to get valuable information. They trust you. Give them what they want and they will reward you by buying in to your offers from time to time.
